Yes, that's me being the nerd I am in front of the Watchmen prop at San Diego's Comic-con this past weekend. It was a fun convention with plenty to see, but there were TOO MANY PEOPLE. The whole thing was huge, but it took about 5 hours too many to just shuffle from one end of the damned building to the other with everyone trying to move in every which way.
Not as many tickets should be sold and there definitely needs to be something done about the organization. Other than that, the day was really fun. I really liked looking at what all the artists had to offer; there is so much variety, it's overwhelming and inspiring at the same time. I bought a $5 shirt with some original artwork on it, but I totally forgot to write down the name of the artist. This makes me sad.
I also bought a signed copy of an art book by Brandon "Ragnar" Johnson. His style is retro/noir similar to Shag's art. You can see his site here: [link]
Dave Gibbons was also there, doing signed sketches, but the line was a mile long and I opted just to hover around and watch him work. I'm sorry I missed Neil Gaiman from the year before, but there were a few Sandman things that made me squeal with delight.
Well, I hope anyone else who went also had a wonderful time!

BTW, that's my brother next to me. I made him look reluctant, but if anything he's more excited about Watchmen than me, which is a feat indeed.
